BRISTOL, UK, 25 June 2009 – The 2008 Impact Factors, just released by Thomson Reuters, show significant growth for all of the biomedical family of journals published by IOP Publishing.

This success reflects the quality and visibility of IOP journals, and shows that researchers who publish with us are in the right place to be cited by their peers.

The results are as follows:

Physics in Medicine and Biology has increased its Impact Factor by 10% to 2.784. IOP co-publishes this journal with the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM).

Physiological Measurement has increased its Impact Factor by 20% to 1.691. IOP also co-publishes this journal with IPEM.

Journal of Neural Engineering has posted a notable first Impact Factor of 2.737.

Physical Biology continues to grow for the third year in a row and now has an Impact Factor of 3.137.

Biomedical Materials has grown by 57% to 1.233.

Journal of Radiological Protection, the official journal of the Society for Radiological Protection, has grown by 29% to 1.169.
