A new book entitled "Monte Carlo Techniques in Radiation Therapy" addresses the application of the Monte Carlo particle transport simulation technique in radiation therapy, mostly focusing on external beam radiotherapy and brachytherapy.

Edited by Joao Seco from Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, USA, and Frank Verhaegen from Maastro Clinic, Maastricht, the Netherlands, the book includes a presentation of the mathematical and technical aspects of the technique in particle transport simulations. It also discusses modelling of medical accelerators and other medical irradiation devices, as well as issues specific to electron, photon, proton and particle beams.

The book is aimed at medical physicists, graduate students and anyone who wants to learn about the Monte Carlo technique. It is the first book to cover this area.
