Lower dose, more information
CT is being lined up for an increasing number of applications, cardiac imaging being one prime example. But for sensitive areas, such as the heart or breast, the associated radiation dose is a critical - and sometime limiting - factor. At the RSNA annual meeting last month, several companies showcased innovative CT systems designed to minimize a patient's radiation exposure or to ramp imaging accuracy without increasing the dose.
