Special report: advances in cryoablation
Cryoablation - the use of freezing techniques to destroy tumours - has become an increasingly important tool for urologists and interventional radiologists. Clinical data demonstrate that cryoablation can effectively treat cancer with potentially fewer side effects than alternative regimes. Moreover, with the development of advanced cryoprobe designs that enable minimally invasive treatment, the range of applications for this technique is expanding at pace.
