Time-of-flight speeds PET scans

Time-of-flight (TOF) PET imaging can provide superior image quality and shorten patient scan times, according to Royal Philips Electronics of the Netherlands. At the 54th SNM annual meeting, held last week in Washington, DC, the company presented the latest clinical results endorsing this claim. The event also heralded the release of several enhancements to Philips' GEMINI TF PET/CT - said to be the first commercial TOF-PET/CT system.
