The first of the two deals sees IBA Dosimetry, Belgium, providing Helical Dosimetry, a suite of QA products for the TomoTherapy Hi•Art treatment system (which combines integrated CT imaging with conformal radiotherapy).
The IBA products are designed to facilitate "fast, accurate digital verification of TomoTherapy's 360° intensity-modulated radiation-therapy (IMRT) treatment plans". The Helical Dosimetry package includes the I'mRT MatriXX, for verification of absorbed dose compared to planned dose, and the MatriXX Multi-Cube phantom for QA evaluations.
A separate tie-up will give cancer centres with TomoTherapy's helical IMRT system access to a range of QA products from PTW, Germany. These products include the seven29 Ion Chamber Array and the Octavius Octagonal Phantom for film-less, patient-specific QA, as well as the MP3-T Water Phantom for Hi•Art treatment system QA.
Earlier this month, TomoTherapy also announced a partnership with Integra Radionics (Burlington, MA) to develop and distribute the latter's InterFix radiosurgery kit. The kit includes a suite of fixation products that have been adapted for use in stereotactic procedures with TomoTherapy's Hi•Art treatment system.
