CdTe detectors enhance PET imaging
Incorporating semiconductor detectors into a PET scanner could enhance the quality and spatial resolution of PET images, according to results presented at SNM's 55th Annual Meeting, held this week in New Orleans, LA. Researchers from Hokkaido University and Hitachi in Japan described the construction and evaluation of the first PET brain scanner that uses cadmium telluride (CdTe) detectors.
