Interventional cardiology: know the limits
The radiation dose from interventional procedures is always a matter for consideration. In particular, fluoroscopically guided cardiac procedures in paediatrics require special attention, considering the increasing use of such practice and the high radiosensitivity of the patients. However, the X-ray systems used for such cases often offer so many settings and operational modes that they can be difficult to evaluate.
