High-resolution detector eyes IMRT QA
Treatment plans for highly conformal radiation therapies – such as intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), volumetric-modulated arc therapy (VMAT) and stereotactic radiotherapy – tend to incorporate regions of steep dose fall-off at the interface between the target and organs-at-risk. Quality assurance (QA) of such plans thus requires a detector with high enough spatial resolution to measure such steep dose gradients.
