Technologies developed through research into the physical sciences have been instrumental in the advances of medical sciences. All of the well-known imaging modalities, such as PET, CT and MRI, as well as therapeutic technologies from linear accelerators to hadron therapy can all trace their origins back to physics. Physics research continues to make advances that will aid the detection and treatment of cancers in the future. This workshop will aim to update the clinical community of these exciting developments.

The main technology developments that will be discussed will fall into four general categories:
• Particle accelerators
• Imaging technologies
• Modelling and simulation techniques for treatment planning
• Grid computing for data sharing
