ContextVision teams with major Japanese ultrasound vendor.

ContextVision, Sweden, has announced the signing of a new, long-term agreement with a major Japanese ultrasound vendor. The agreement has been made in close relationship with ContextVision distributor, TOYO Corporation, Japan, and will bring a substantial volume to GOPView US licenses.

Since its introduction at RSNA in 2003, GOPView US has earned a reputation as the world's leading-edge speckle reduction and image enhancement software for a wide range of ultrasound systems, including both PC- and DSP-based platforms.

GOPView US reduces noise and speckle in real-time, while simultaneously enhancing edges and fine structural details. The software maintains the look of conventional Ultrasound imaging while providing clinical and ergonomic advantages that include higher diagnostic confidence and reduction of eye fatigue. GOPView US is designed to work with all imaging modalities, including color/Doppler and 3D/4D imaging. The software is widely considered the fastest adaptive image enhancement and speckle reduction algorithm available for Ultrasound imaging.

"The significant increase in demand for GOPView US supports feedback from clinicians working in the field," said Jan Erik Hedborg, CEO of ContextVision AB. "We consistently hear that GOPView creates a more quantifiable impact on images and clinical workflow than any other processing or enhancement algorithm available for ultrasound. This reflects our ongoing goal of adding clinical value through image enhancement. We are proud that GOPView US has become the new quality standard for image enhancement in Ultrasound imaging. This new agreement gives ContextVision its 12th major ultrasound customer and we are now covering the ultrasound market in Europe, the US, China and Japan."

Demand for ContextVision's software has risen most significantly in ultrasound during 2005 and the first part of 2006. The company's short-term development focus is enabling GOPView US for new platforms and creating new releases with enhancements and additional features.
