Medical imaging specialist Barco has expanded its offering of softcopy visualization solutions with a new, cost-effective color display system. The 3 MegaPixel system adds more choice to Barco's portfolio of high-grade PACS display products, including the dependable Nio family and the premium Coronis line.

The Nio Color 3MP presents radiologists with consistent, high-quality images for many years. Integrated Backlight Output Stabilization (BLOS) technology ensures fast power-up and continuously stabilizes the luminance output of the LCD’s backlight, which improves the overall consistency of the displays. This high-level diagnostic quality is acknowledged by various international certifications, including FDA 510(k), CE0120 and EN-60601-1.

To protect its valuable LCD panel against damage from intensive use in clinical environments, the Nio Color 3MP comes with an integrated protective front cover, which enables easy and safe cleaning. Moreover, its non-reflective coating will improve the diagnostic experience, while keeping reflections very low.

The Nio Color 3MP is driven by a high-performance display controller that supports 3D PACS applications with 30-bit color precision. The PCI Express controller delivers impressive image download speeds and optimized 3D operations through OpenGL and Microsoft DirectX. Finally, the brand-new display system comes with Barco’s innovative softcopy QA solution 'MediCal QAWeb'. It guarantees maximum diagnostic confidence and uptime of your display systems by providing automated DICOM calibration, Quality Assurance, display asset management, problem solving and reporting. With MediCal QAWeb, calibration and QA settings can even be changed remotely without having to be present at the workstation.
