Targeting a lung/breast tumour while constantly moving due to respiration is not an easy task.
Targeting a lung/breast tumour with high precision while it is constantly moving due to respiration is not an easy task. However, it is essential in some cases in order to avoid irradiating a vital organ such as the heart.
The Respisens is an innovative device for patient motion tracking during radiotherapy. The system consists of a miniaturized transmitter/receiver that measures a distance on the patient’s body. The Respisens tracks patient breathing and thus helps monitoring and securing breath hold manoeuvres.
