In addition to advanced routine CT examinations, SOMATOM® Sensation Open is especially designed for the specific needs of 3D in-room imaging for Oncology. It is a perfect tool for Virtual Simulation.
SOMATOM Sensation Open employs the unique Siemens Straton tube and includes the following options:
- High Resolution Imaging – z-Sharp Technology
Provides the capability to perform spiral acquisitions with up to 40 slices per rotation using sub-millimeter collimation (0.6 mm). - 0.5s Rotation Option
Enables a fast rotation time of 0.5 second for a complete rotation of the tube-detector system based on super-fast slip ring technology.
The system also includes the Respiratory Gating and Triggering option, which is comprised of hardware and software components that allow for the capture and storage of a signal representing a patient’s respiratory cycle during a spiral or sequence CT acquisition.
