Dose-to-water matrix provided by the program can be derived from dosimetric image for IMRT, RapidArc®, open and wedged beams.

Epiqa works with EPID integrated images to provide dose in water distribution. Comparison with the dose distribution in water phantom calculated by planning system allows for quantitative gamma analysis and dose difference of any open and IMRT field and RapidArc plan.

By providing dose to water information Epiqa, in conjunction with EPID, can be used as independent MU verification tool.
Additionally, Epiqa supports linac QA for open and wedged fields by analysis of fields’ symmetry and homogeneity. Beam energy verification is supported by comparing dose at four different depths using supplied build up plastic step wedge phantom.

Support for TPS commissioning and QA is provided by analysis of calculated versus delivered dose to water for any photon field type.
Epiqa program is based on GLAaS algorithm as described in Nicolini G. et al. GLAaS: an absolute dose calibration algorithm for an amorphous silicon portal imager.
