BrachyCheck, FDA 510(K) cleared since April 2006, independently verifies HDR, LDR, permanent seed implants, and supports the electronic source. Calculations are done using the TG-43 formalism.
Using the TG-43 formalism, BrachyCheck supports verification of HDR, LDR and permanent seed implants, as well as use of the electron source. The software automatically decays the source to the time of treatment. The source data is easily modifiable and user's can customize calculation preferences. Dose points and Dwell positions can be hand-keyed but is more easily imported using a DICOM or FTP interface. BrachyCheck also supports text files from Variseed and .exp files from Prowess. A graphical display with color-coded catheters can be viewed. Single or Multiple fractions are supported. Source data and software updates can be easily downloaded from the mucheck.com website. A detailed or summary report can be viewed and, if desired, exported into XLS, PDF, TIFF or RTF formats.
